Bergmann 1400E Rotary Bag Compactor

The Bergmann 1400E is an updated electrical version of the PS8100 hydraulic bag compactor. It has a small 1.7m by 1.2m footprint and will give a 10:1 compaction rate, achieving an 80% plus reduction in collections.

Bergmann 1400-E Rotary Bag Compactor: 10:1 compaction ratio in a 1250L tough bag. Ideal alternative to a baler, or for use with general waste and post-consumer plastic and packaging waste.

It is ideal for sites with:

  • Small area for waste management (like hotels and shops)
  • No room for multiple bins (city centre areas for example)
  • General waste or dry recyclables with some contamination from food waste: the bag contains all the liquid
  • Production lines and factories where waste needs to be compacted at the point it is generated: loading by hand, conveyor or chute is typical
  • Apartment blocks where waste is disposed via chutes: the 1400E can be loaded from a vertical chute
  • As an alternative to a baler, particularly for plastics and shrinkwrap

How The Bergmann 1400E Works

A new bag is placed in the machine with a pallet on the floor and the doors closed; waste is loaded through the chute door (or via a chute from above for example); the rotary drum breaks up and compacts the waste into the bag; the bag is protected by a metal bag shield; the full bag, typically between 350kg and 500kg in weight; the full bag is pulled out on a pallet truck and the bag sealed. The bag can be fork-lifted into a 35 yard container (typical in factories) or collected where waste vehicles have bag and forklift attachments, or picked up with a bale grab.

    Semi - Automatic (Manual Tie) horizontal waste balers.are ideal for larger volumes (1 to 3 tonnes per hour) of cardboard, plastics, PET bottles*, aluminium and steel cans,  where volume loading is required from a bin lifter, bucket, forklift truck or a conveyor. All bales are ‘mill-sized’. The bales are tied off by hand and the bale is fully-ejected before another bale or another material is started. Bale pressure from 80 to 120 tonnes.

    The fully - automatic (auto-tie) horizontal waste balers.is required when volume processing 3 to 16 tonnes per hour. Bales are automatically tied off and pushed out (the bale behind pushes out the bale in front). Feeding is typically by bucket, forklift truck, conveyor or chute. All bales are ‘mill-sized’. Bale pressure from 40 to 120 tonnes.

    RDF is a difficult material which is often made up of small particles of residual waste after the main items have been outsorted. It requires a) high pressure; b) plastic ties and c) bale wrapping. You need a plastic tie facility on your baler which RDF balers.use and you will need a bale wrapper aswell. Feeding is typically by conveyor.
