Battersea Power Station Chooses Bergmann Portable Waste Compactors
This legendary London landmark and surrounding area has been developed with a blend of shops, luxury apartments, restaurants, entertainment venues and offices such as the new Apple campus. The £9bn project will have over 800 luxury apartments.
The development opened its doors to the public on Friday 14th October 2022 with over 250,000 people visiting the iconic Electric Avenue pedestrianized high retail outlets and dining establishments. A new open-air ice rink opens on 11th November.
The Project Working alongside Savills and the Battersea Power Station Development team, Bergmann Direct Ltd were the chosen partner and have supplied over 20 portable waste compactors to manage their waste.
A large 42-acre site, there are multiple waste areas that need to be serviced, the flexibility of the Bergmann skip and portable compactors offers manoeuvrability for areas of increased demand. The equipment is a combination of the Bergmann MPB 414 SN10 Skip Compactors and the Bergmann MPB 918 SN20 Portable Compactors for both their domestic and commercial waste needs. The waste compactors all have automatic bin lifters for standard wheelie bins and will service the commercial and residential areas.
The Compactors Bergmann portable waste compactors are specialist machines for wet and general waste. Their hopper and press plate design is different to typical waste compactors in that there is no space behind the press ram. In a standard compactor waste can slip around the edge of the press plate and this chamber has to be cleaned out weekly which can be a nasty job. But there’s no need to do this on a Bergmann portable waste compactor, keeping maintenance costs down and increasing the longevity of the machinery.
Bergmann have been the leading manufacturer of portable waste compactors in Europe for many years with hundreds of locations throughout London and at household waste recycling centres throughout the UK.
