NHS Highland has one ES300 at Raigmore hospital in Inverness.
NHS Greater Glasgow & Clyde have 15 Eco-Smart units, the first having been installed in March 2017 and the most recent, at Queen Elizabeth's University Hospital in 2021.
We have recently been appointed by NHS Shetland. Rural locations were exempt from the Zero Waste Scotland rules which required the separate collection of food waste when the rules first came out in 2014 but now all food waste producers must comply. The overwhelming volume of dried waste from the food waste dryer goes to anaerobic digestion or commercial composting facilities in Scotland for recycling.
